Conditions and requirements

Quantity to be imported should not exceed the personal need of a period of 3 months for non controlled medicines and 1 month for controlled and semi controlled medicines.

Required documents

1. Prescription issued by the attending Physician.

2. Medical Report approved by health entities.

3. Copy of Emirates ID or passport.

Procedures and steps

1. Customer submits the online application form of requesting the issuance of a permission to import medicine for personal use along with the required documents.

2. The concerned officer in Drugs Department examines the request.

3. Drugs Department issues the approval.

4. Approval is to be handed over / delivered to the concerned customer.

How to Apply Online for Permission to Import Medicines for Personal use in UAE

Visit the Website of http://www.mohap.gov.ae and click on Create New Account for creating a new account. If already registered you can simply Login using Username and Password and click on Login.

If not Registered already click on Create new Account you will be displayed as below. Select "Individuals" from the Type of Account drop down and Enter Username, E-Mail Address, New Password and Retype Password and click on Create Account.

Once your Account is created successfully. The activation link will be send to your e-mail address. Go to your E-Mail address provided at the time of registration and click on the link to Verify. Link will be valid for 3 Hours Only.

Now you can Login to the Account suing your Username and Password. Once Login you can see below Page.

Click on New Application and Click on Import.

Click on New Application and Click on Import. Click on Personal Use Drug from the Table Below.

Application Form will be displayed as below. Enter the Patient details Name, Nationality, Emirates ID, Passport Number, Address in UAE, Country of Residence, Date of Arrival and Departure etc. and click on Next.
