Currently the use of E-scooters will be permitted in five Dubai districts, namely Al Rigga, Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, Dubai Internet City, and the 2nd of December Street.
Five different operators have been approved to run the E-scooter rental business, namely Careem, Tier, Skrrt, Arnab and Lime.
The speed limit has to be at 20 km/h
Riders must be aged 14 and over
The bikes are available to rent through mobile applications and cost AED 3 to unlock and 60 fils for every minute thereafter.
The payment is done via the app, which is linked to the riders’ credit or debit cards.
